Church Profile
History and Beliefs
Grace Community Church celebrated its 44th anniversary in 2002. Beginning as a small Sunday School group meeting in the local grange hall, it was incorporated in December 1958 as a church with 28 members. In 1978, it affiliated with the Evangelical Free Church of America, and is located in that association's Eastern District.
Grace Community Church has always held firmly to the evangelical faith, as expressed in its Statement of Faith. We remain thoroughly committed to the authority of the inspired Word of God, as found in the Old and New Testaments of the Bible. We believe that salvation from sin and death is found only through personal faith in Jesus Christ.
Membership
As with most Evangelical Free Churches, our congregation has more in attendance than it has official members. We have approximately 500 active attenders, 130 active members, and a Sunday morning worship attendance of about 370 in two services. This places us in an extreme minority of churches, as 75% of America's churches have less than 75 attenders on a given Sunday. In fact, 95% of churches in America average 200 attenders or less each week. Only 5% of churches in America have over 200 attenders, and less than 1% have more than 1000.
